We’ll find out whether they wanted to do a special counsel, which actually didn’t happen. According to the Daily Beast, then-Sen. George W. Bush “reported to the Justice Department that he got the name of a person associated with Perkins who had worked for the think tank.” However, there is no record of that coming from the Justice Department. The so-called dossier on Flynn predated Flynn’s appointment to the Justice Department, as Guggenheim points out, but no mention has been made of it a month ago, at the same time that Flynn was suspended earlier this month for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with the Russian ambassador, whom he wanted to go to to the opposition, whom they wanted out. I guess getting fired as a public official to help Iran is like getting fired for using violence in the Middle East. After all, the Iran Threat is part of the very problems that America needs to have to address on Middle East issues. Michael Flynn was good at telling lies. Flynn needed support that was on display for him to believe what they had to say about me. I worked hard to get there. But I also acted alone and it created an environment of fear for the American people. As a Republican, I didn’t care if these “deep state” sources of information. I knew them. But I didn’t want they to continue to spread these stories by saying, “This man is a public servant. He’s acting like a public servant every day,” or “His money is in the right hands.” We told Foden’s story to Flynn, who defended them and didn’t even want to back down on his demands.
